Dawn specializes in helping the discerning pet parent get started off in the right direction, creating a bond and level of communication that results in a loving canine companion that is a cherished well-mannered member of the family.
With over 30 years' experience training dogs, Dawn can help you with most any avenue of training, whether it's raising a future Search & Rescue Dog, your next Obedience or Agility Champion, Registered Therapy Dog, a cherished member of the family, or the most amazing hiking adventure dog.
In her years as a Veterinary Technician she explored in depth the field of canine behavior to help the clients she came to see as family who struggled with issues a dog trainer could not help them with. Dawn has vast experience working closely with Veterinarians to treat the more complex behavior problems.
When not training dogs, Dawn stays very busy as an outdoor enthusiast & athlete, running ultra-marathons, backpacking, mountaineering, hiking, camping, rock climbing, snowshoeing, etc.
Dawn is an active champion of rescuing dogs in need. She has personally fostered/rescued over a hundred dogs. Including her current 6 year old border collie Emily, adopted from a shelter, now an accomplished agility dog.
Dawn's training experience is not limited to dogs, she is also the owner/trainer of Sam Adventure Kitty, the backpacking, hiking adventure cat!

Private Behavior Consultations
Offering extensive knowledge and experience, we help people & their canine companions address both common and complex behavior problems, such as but not limited to: housebreaking complications, destructive behaviors, separation anxiety, aggression & reactivity and anxiety disorders.
Puppy Training
Get started off on the right paw with an in-depth in-home puppy primer, discussing preventing and addressing all the common puppy behavior problems, demonstrating the basic training you can start right away, a Q & A on all the do's and don'ts of raising a well mannered family dog or your future performance puppy. A variety of training programs are available to help you raise the ideal canine companion.
